The KIMSOM Diploma Programs are tailored to facilitate Professional Management practices necessary for economic and social development of a country and for the improvement of a people’s welfare. To practice professional management, managers require proper education and training in management. This course is intended to equip the learner with a wide range of management skills applicable in all areas of management universally. The course has eleven (11) areas of specialization. Each area of specialization consists of 3 Sections and a total of 18 taught units. In addition students undertake Research Work and undergo Industrial Attachment of eight to twelve weeks.

The minimum entry requirements are either
KIM Certificate in Management
Or P 1 certificate
Or KATC final
Or CPA 1 /CPS 1
Or KNEC Certificate in a Business related field
Or Equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution

Certification: A Transcript and Diploma Certificate in Management in the relevant option shall be issued upon successful completion of course work, attachment and Research Project.
Students with relevant qualifications from recognized institutions may apply for credit transfers in specific units up to a maximum of 2 units per level in Section 1 and II. Credit transfers shall be granted at an equal level or higher qualification. Holders of Degrees in Business related field will be exempted on individual case basis based on previous performance.
PROGRAM MODALITIES
Students may attend any of the following sessions:-
Morning Sessions - 8.00 am to 12.00 pm
Afternoon Sessions - 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Evening Sessions - 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm
Saturday Sessions - 8.00 am to 5.30 pm
Saturday & Sunday 8.00 am to 5.30 pm
Early Morning 6:30am to 8:00am
A student MUST attend at least 75% of the scheduled time in order to be allowed to take examinations. Students should sign in all classes attended.
Semesters
There are four semesters in any given year: January to June; April to September; July to December and October to March.
Evaluation Policy
Work Based Assignments (WBA-15 %), Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT-15%), End of Semester Examinations (70%), Industrial Attachment (Pass) and Research Project (100%).
Compulsory Practical Units
DCM 11 Industrial Attachment
Industrial Attachment will take duration of minimum eight (8) weeks aimed at directed internship for practical application of the knowledge obtained in class in a private firm, Non-Governmental Organizations, government agency etc.
DCM 12 Research Project
This is an independent action or Applied Research conducted by the students to solve an identified problem in their fields of specialization
