POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW- fungal biodegradation/bioremediation research postdoctoral position is available to study oxidation and detoxification of recalcitrant environmental toxicants including polyaromatics by white rot fungi using complex matrices (soil and lignocellulosics). The position will involve condition optimization and bioprocess development using native and manipulated basidiomycete fungal systems, as monitored based on gene/enzyme expression levels (using qRT-PCR and Western blot analyses), xenobiotic oxidation rate/metabolite formation (using HPLC and GC-MS analyses), and toxicity evaluation. Interested candidates should have a Ph.D degree and hands on experience in biodegradation research involving complex matrices such as soil and/or lignocellulosic substrates. Experience in data interpretation and writing skills will be desirable. Salary will be commensurate with relevant skills and experience.
