Essential functions of a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting: A Senior Manager at Deloitte is expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including: * Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk * Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors * Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies * Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals * People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices Senior Managers in the ECM practice are required to have: * 10 years of relevant consulting or industry experience * At least 4 years of experience managing large technology engagements * A minimum of 6 full life cycle implementations * A willingness to travel 80 - 100% of the time * Deep knowledge of more than one portal and ECM platforms such as SAP Portal/Netweaver, Plumtree, Vignette, SharePoint, BEA Portal, Websphere Portal, Documentum, FileNet, Hummingbird, Open Text, iManage, eiStream, Captiva, Vignette * Ability to architect an Enterprise Content Management solution and provide optimization recommendations to content managers * Ability to recommend platform selection and application integration options to clients * Ability to advise on application integration best practices and optimize performance of ECM solution * Knowledge and/or experience with Portal capabilities such as Security, Search, Personalization, Internationalization, Categorization, Taxonomy, Messaging, Collaboration, and Publishing * Experience Developing of statements of work and/or client proposals * Broad system level expertise across multiple computing platforms and technologies with the ability to influence technology direction at the Enterprise Level * Experience with conceptualization, design and assistance in the implementation of new and existing systems, middleware, data warehouse and production architectures * Experience transferring knowledge and best practices to client * Experience working with CxO level executives on a daily basis In addition, successful Senior Managers will have the following preferred background: * Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments * Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) * Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment * Eagerness to mentor junior staff * A Bachelor's Degree * An advanced degree in the area of specialization * Raise quality of portal and ECM design and implementation across the practice by sharing insights and methods through training, community, etc. * Lead business opportunities to increase usability and profitability of portal interface and information architecture * Lead executive level governance boards * Define enterprise content strategy * Deep knowledge of different types of performance tools such as Mercury Interactive suite (LoadRunner) * Deep knowledge of different types of security tools such as IBM/Tivoli Access Manager or Netegrity SiteMinder * Deep knowledge on different types of metadata and search tools such as Google, Verity, Autonomy, FAST * Deep knowledge of reporting and analytics tools such as Webtrends, Vignette * Ability to manage large engagements or more than one small to medium engagement.
