Associate Research Scientist Columbia University's Center for Climate Systems Research (CCSR) invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist position with a primary focus on integrating laboratory and field-based approaches with modeling to address climate impacts on agroecosystems.?
The research involves using ecosystem and climate models to investigate the potential for sequestering atmospheric carbon and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and climate change in agricultural lands. Model simulations will be compared to field observations and historical records of crop yields and soil properties. Anticipated projects include collecting necessary data from the field to calibrate and validate biogeochemical models to simulate carbon and nitrogen dynamics for specialty crops. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: The applicant must have a Ph.D. in biogeochemistry, soil science, ecology or related field with at least 2 years related experience.
