NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship: Musculoskeletal MRI/NMR Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellow position with the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas. The fellow will work on an NIH funded project involving the development of two-photon imaging methods for the quantification of DNA repair protein dynamics in the nucleus after cells are exposed to radiation or chemical agents. The project involves experimental work combining two-photon imaging with quantitative microscopy methods such as Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) and Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) along with some computational modeling. We seek a qualified candidate with a Ph.D. in biophotonics/optics or related areas and experience in fluorescence microscopy. We also highly encourage applications from candidates with a physics background that have optics and lasers experience and a desire to work on biologically oriented projects.  The fellow will work in a highly interdisciplinary research environment integrating molecular biology and advanced quantitative microscopy techniques available at UTSW and will also use a two-photon microscope facility that is part of the University of Texas at Arlington Optical Imaging Labs at UTSW. In-house expertise includes development of fluorescent proteins in DNA repair deficient cells, siRNA technologies and transgenic mouse development.
