Junior Scientiste Position: Dynamic modelling of signalling networks Ranked the number one agricultural institute in Europe and number two in the world, INRA (National Institute for Agricultural Research - France) carries out mission-oriented research for high-quality and healthy foods, competitive and sustainable agriculture and a preserved and valorised environment. Every year, INRA seeks researchers from all disciplines to reinforce laboratory and fieldwork teams. The Institute is recruiting through open competitions and offering permanent positions. Object of research and skills: The Biology and Bioinformatics of Signaling Systems group develops a systems biology strategy that combines experimental and computational approaches, in order to gain exhaustive and quantitative knowledge of the biological events mediated by G protein-coupled receptors. We recently developed a new parameter estimation algorithm to gain insights into the dynamics of a hormone-induced signalling network, from the membrane receptor to gene expression and mRNA translation. The newly-hired scientist will participate in the modelling of networks of interest for the team and in the development of new methods. Experience in the field of biological network modelling will be considered favourably, along with the following fields of expertise : ordinary differential equation models, development and use of algorithms for dynamic modelling and simulation, model inference, signalling/molecular systems. Educational background: PhD or equivalent. Candidates should have a good command of English.
