Postdoctoral Fellow: Quantitative Imaging SIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics (CMIS) is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow in the area of Computational and Simulation Sciences – Quantitative Imaging. In this role you will develop novel technologies and advance knowledge in the area of 3D image reconstruction from tomography datasets. The Quantitative Imaging Group are interested in new and efficient methods for CT reconstruction from incomplete data, including practical problems with truncated projections, limited scan angle as well as data with large angular steps. These problems are of increasing importance for CT imaging conducted at Australian and overseas synchrotrons and on conventional laboratory-based instruments. Specifically you will: Develop and implement novel algorithms to speed up the production and analysis of high resolution tomographic reconstructions Apply these tools to datasets produced by EEG and synchrotron imaging Publish research findings in peerreviewed publications and international forums Foster collaborations in the imaging and bioscience space Participate in CSIRO’s Postdoctoral training program. Location: Acton, Canberra Salary: $78K to 85K plus up to 15.4% Superannuation Ref no: ACT12/05068 Tenure: 3 year term To be successful you will have: Completed, or will shortly complete, the requirements for a PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline. Owing to the terms of the fellowship, candidates must not have more than 3 years relevant Post-Doctoral Experience. Experience with quantitative imaging. Demonstrated originality, creativity and innovation in identifying and solving problems and introducing new directions and approaches. The ability to publish research results and make scientific presentations to audiences with scientific and non-scientific background. Demonstrated extensive experience in computer programming and the use of computer languages such as C, C++ or Java. Proven ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team including the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and collaborators.
