Post-doctoral Research Fellow – Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Systems Biology The Center for Biosignatures Discovery Automation

Post-doctoral Research Fellow – Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Systems Biology The Center for Biosignatures Discovery Automation in Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute seeks to fill a post-doctoral research fellow position in bioinformatics focused on the computational analysis and integration of large-scale data sets, biological knowledge mining, computational modeling, and systems biology. This position will work in a highly collaborative environment to provide state-of-the-art computational and bioinformatics support to large scale data integration and interpretation. Our objective is to better understand relationships and correlations between cellular genome, transcriptome, cell structure and function. To strengthen and further advance projects in the lab using our novel single-cell technologies, we are looking for an energetic computational biologist, bioinformatician, computational systems biologist or computationally-oriented and technology-savvy molecular biologist or similar candidate with strong computational skills and knowledge of cell biology. A PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, biological physics, or other relevant field is required. Previous experience with the integration, analysis and mining of diverse large data sets is necessary. Excellent writing and communication skills and the ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team are essential. Hands-on experience in the analysis of microarray or next-generation sequencing data and their biological interpretation would be helpful. Experience in study design, power calculation, and statistical data analysis is also desirable. A background in the computational modeling of biological systems is highly desirable. A proven track record including peer-reviewed publications is highly desirable. In addition to research and designing experiments, the successful candidate is expected to be involved in proposal writing and student mentoring activities. To apply send resume, cover letter and three professional references in a pdf file to computationalpostdoc@asu.edu with "Bioinformatics Postdoc" in the subject line of the email.
