Medical Imaging - X-Ray imaging, PET, SPECTThree postdoctoral positions available in the areas of x-ray imaging and nuclear medicine imaging at university of Houston. 1) Breast Tomography and Imaging Physics: This position will involve exploring optimal acquisition and image reconstruction methods for tomographic breast imaging. Opportunities to explore new areas such as spectral x-ray imaging is available. Research on breast tomosynthesis, statistical reconstruction methods, Monte Carlo simulations would be part of the job responsibility. Ideal candidate will possess excellent mathematical and computational skills. Background in medical imaging physics is desirable. Excellent skills with C/C++, Unix scripting essential. Some experience with IDL or Matlab is desirable as is experience with GEANT4 or GATE. Interested candidates must contact Prof. Mini Das, mdas@uh.edu (Web: www.ipl.uh.edu) 2) Model Observer Development, Image perception and Eye tracking studies: Seeking suitable candidates to join the team of collaborative project between imaging physics and biomedical engineering at university of Houston. Successful candidate will participate in the development of a visual search mathematical model observer for optimizing tomographic breast imaging systems. Should possess excellent analytical, mathematical and computational skills. Previous experience with observer studies (ROC, LROC), model observers, eye tracking studies, image analysis, feature extraction are highly desirable. Fluency in C/C++, Unix scripting is desirable as is experience with IDL. Interested candidates should send their CV and application to Prof. Mini Das (mdas@uh.edu) and Prof. Howard Gifford (hgifford@uh.edu). 3) PET and SPECT imaging: One or two postdoctoral positions are available in the biomedical engineering department at UH to work on simulations for designing and optimizing PET and SPECT imaging systems. Excellent analytical, computational and mathematical skills are desirable. Successful candidate will simulate medical imaging systems and assess task based performance (ROC, LROC studies). Fluency in C/C++, Unix scripting essential. Interested candidates must send applications to Prof. Howard Gifford (hgifford@uh.edu) (Web: http://www2.egr.uh.edu/~hgifford) Contact: mini das Physics University of Houston houston, TX 77204 United States
