Postdoc Researcher in Microwave/Millimeter-wave Engineering The Davis Millimeter-wave Research Center

Postdoc Researcher in Microwave/Millimeter-wave Engineering The Davis Millimeter-wave Research Center (DMRC) is searching for a postdoctoral researcher to work on emerging millimeter-wave technologies. The selected candidate will advance the state-of-the-art by conducting research and development of RF and millimeter-wave semiconductor devices, high-speed interconnects and packaging solutions. The selected candidate is expected to originate and pursue novel device, component, circuit and system integration schemes that take advantage of the existing technical strengths of the DMRC center by working closely with several principal investigators and doctoral/post-doctoral researchers in the center. The expected research work is exploratory in nature, and may require semiconductor and MEMS device design; RF and millimeter-wave circuit design; physical layout of integrated circuits and printed circuit boards; designing and executing device micro fabrication process flows; prototype integration and assembly; DC/analog/RF electrical characterization and analysis; developing novel test infrastructure and techniques; and documentation of results in reports, presentations and academic publications. The DMRC is an industry university cooperative research program, broadly focused on fostering millimeter-wave technology for wireless communications, radar, sensing, and imaging systems. The activities in the DMRC range from devices, integrated circuits, components and packaging, sub-systems to system implementation. The DMRC is affiliated with the University of California, Davis. Job Requirement • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (e.g. Applied Physics) • Excellent academic credentials • Thorough knowledge of and applied experience with scientific and engineering methods and with the discipline's standards for the ethical conduct of research. • Knowledge of RF microelectronics, semiconductor device physics, and semiconductor materials • Knowledge of applied electromagnetics and microwave engineering • Familiarity with micro fabrication process flows and fabrication techniques • Familiarity with MEMS and RF-MEMS technology • Familiarity with DC, high-speed, RF and microwave measurement techniques • Strong interest in microelectronic devices and circuits • Good communication and interpersonal skills Interested Applicants should contact Dr. Xiaoguang Liu at lxgliu@ucdavis.edu Contact: Xiaoguang Liu Electrical and Computer Engineering University of California, Davis One Shields Ave. 2064 Kemper Hall Davis, CA 95616 United States
