Postdoctoral Fellow in Musculoskeletal ResearchThe Skeletal Mechanobiology and Regeneration Lab at the Center for Tissue Regeneration, Repair, and Restoration is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented postdoctoral research fellow to join a growing basic science and translational lab with ties to the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. We are a growing team with a focus on skeletal mechanics, adaptation, and regeneration; cellular mechanotransduction; and tissue engineering strategies for volumetric bone defects. We have an interdisciplinary approach with collaborators in orthopaedic surgery, mechanical engineering, and cell and molecular biology. The postdoctoral fellow will work on projects in the following areas: • SDF-1 in stem cell recruitment for fracture healing and mechanical adaptation • Design of biologically-derived biomaterials using mesenchymal and adipose-derived stem cells • Tissue engineering strategies for composite tissue injury Qualifications: Candidates with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven record in musculoskeletal research. Candidates must be self-motivated and independent thinkers with excellent communication and writing skills, and an ability to run, analyze and troubleshoot experiments independently. Experience with transgenic/knockout mouse models, bone histology, and cell and molecular biology is desirable. Other desired skills include cloning, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, ISH, immunohistochemistry. The candidate will be involved in designing his/her own research program, preparing and publishing scientific manuscripts, writing grants, and supervising more junior students. Contact: Please send your Curriculum Vitae and a brief statement of your research interests and career goals to the email address provided. Letters of recommendation will be required prior to appointment. International candidates are welcome. Contact: Center for Tissue Regeneration, Repair, and Restoration Palo Alto, CA United States
