Kaka Sungura Pays Tribute To Fallen Artists with New Track- We Miss Them Ft Nadu (Video) Kevin Onimba popular for his stage name Rabbit is also Kaka Sungura and the Kiswahili Shakespeare to his fans. Kaka Sungura is a poet, lyricist, entertainer and a musical genius famous for hit tracks like Adisia, Swahili Shakespeare, Niko kwa jam nakam, Ligi soo and many other tracks which have just proved his unique talent of narrating stories and being able to entertain at the same time with his creative lyrics and his sick wordplay. Well, Rabbit is back again and this time with an even stronger and more touching message. His new track “We miss them” which he features Nadu (who I must say has a lovely voice) is to pay tribute to all the fallen Kenyan artists. All those great Kenyan artists that have died, or have been taken away from the music scene in one way or another and how much the industry and their fans miss them. He does this with his wordplay and rhymes taking us down memory lane on a musical journey right from the times of Lyrical tongue twister Esir, Poxxy Presha , K-Rupt, Lady S, King Kong, Moses Juma, Wiki Mosh, and Angela Chibalonza who we all have lost through untimely deaths. He touches on their songs like Otonglo time, ukimwona, Tukawake, Atoti and talks about how greatly they inspired him. He also goes on to mention names of artists that have left the music scene; all the amazing artists that played a major role in shaping the Kenyan Music industry into what it is today. He recognizes Bamboo’s homecoming and shouts out Mercy Myra, Attitude, ‘Yule Boy mkali wa Klepto’ Nyashinsky and urges them to come home because without them home is just empty. He raps; “The Industry kwangu ndio home, so with the pioneers gone, it’s not a home anymore.” Rabbit is that great artiste who always delivers and never dissapoints when it comes to giving us good music. He is able to tell any story in a way that sends the message directly home. The homage to the fallen artists couldn’t be brought out any better. This track takes me way back and its so emotional, makes you realise just how much we have lost in the industry. Kaka Sungura has delivered yet again, watch this dedication to all the lost souls in the industry and their families below;
