Migori County Maryland University Jobs-2-ADHERENCE COUNSELOR: ONE (1) POSITION –REF:MCPSB 267/2019 The adherence Counselor will work under the Facility in charge/CCC in-charge, with a dotted line to MGIC adherence Specialists, the following being the main roles and responsibilities; (a) Roles and Responsibilities: i. Provide ART treatment preparation and support to clients in HIV chronic care ii. Provide confidential adherence counseling and support to persons living with HIV as per Kenya ART National Guidelines. iii. Support Linkage and follow up of clients who turn HIV Positive until initiation of ART. iv. Implement appointment management systems v. Implement a case management system that supports priority clients vi. Must be able to meet daily, weekly and monthly set organizational targets for the facility. vii. Provide Group counseling e.g. Couples, Discordant couples, Youth and Adolescents. viii. Support the facilities to do PNS on all clients in the CCC above 15 years ix. Support clients identify ART barriers and support them develop adherence plans x. Must be able to Maintain Confidentiality of Patient’s information. xi. Must be able to link all patients to psychosocial support groups xii. Supervise peer educators and community health workers xiii. Writing and submitting timely, accurate and precise daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the supervisors. xiv. Perform any other work related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor and UMB Longitudinal specialist staff (b) Key Performance indicators i. 100% of all clients assessed on Morisky 4 ii. 100% of all clients eligible for Morisky 8 done and documented iii. 100% of all clients due for booster counselling done and each barrier documented and acted on appropriately iv. 100% of all clients due for enhanced counselling done and barriers documented and actioned appropriately v. 100% of all clients due for TPS done and documented appropriately (c) Requirements and competencies i. Diploma in counselling, /Psychology or a social or health science ii. Trained in adherence counselling iii. 2 years’ experience as adherence counsellor iv. HTS counselling is an added advantage v. Good report writing skills vi. Computer literacy added advantage vii. Satisfy the requirement of Chapter six 0f the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity (d) Terms of Service: Contract HOW TO APPLY: 1.
